What to Expect from Your First Treatment
Booking your first session is an exciting step toward relaxation and well-being. To help you feel prepared, here’s a guide on what to expect from your first treatment.
Before Your Appointment
Once you book your session, you’ll receive an email with a link to an online consultation form. This form includes general health questions to ensure your treatment is both safe and tailored to your needs. If possible, try to complete this before your appointment to allow for more hands-on treatment time. However, if you don’t get a chance to fill it out in advance, don’t worry—we will go through it together when you arrive. I will also ask a few additional questions about your lifestyle to build a holistic picture of your well-being.
Please arrive to your appointment on time. I work from my studio space at home, so there is no-where to wait. If you are more than 10 minutes early you may have to wait outside if I am with another client.
During Your Treatment
For both aromatherapy massage and reflexology, I use a massage couch. If you need assistance getting onto the couch, a stool is available. Your comfort is my priority—I will guide you on how to sit or lie down and adjust the environment accordingly. A heated blanket is available for colder days, and I can dim the lights to create a soothing atmosphere. If you prefer different lighting or have specific temperature preferences, just let me know. I will also play relaxing music, but if you’d rather have silence or something different, I am happy to accommodate your preference.
Aromatherapy Massage/Reflexology Combo
Aromatherapy massage & reflexology combo is a deluxe treatment, designed to help you truly relax. We will discuss your needs and choose an aromatherapy blend just for you, carefully selecting oils based on your preference. Before we begin your treatment, I will guide you on what clothing to remove and ensure that you can do so discreetly. You will be covered with towels and blankets to keep you warm and comfortable. We will start with your back massage, and finish with your reflexology.
Throughout the session, I will check in to ensure the pressure is comfortable and talk you through each step to make sure you remain at ease. When the treatment is complete, you will have time to relax before getting dressed. I will provide a screen for privacy and offer you some water to help you rehydrate. Before you leave, we will discuss any aftercare tips to help you maximise the benefits of your treatment.
Reflexology Treatment
Reflexology typically focuses on the feet, though hand and ear reflexology are also options. For foot reflexology, you’ll be asked to remove your shoes and socks before sitting comfortably on the couch. Some clients prefer to recline, while others like to sit more upright—whatever feels best for you. A blanket will be available for added comfort.
The session will start with a gentle foot cleanse using a warm towel, followed by the application of a balm that I create myself. Some balms contain essential oils, while others do not: I will choose the one best suited to your needs. Most balms contain beeswax, but if you prefer a vegan blend please let me know. We will begin with some joint breathing to promote relaxation before I work on your feet. Reflexology should not be painful, but you may notice areas of sensitivity, especially if they relate to parts of the body that need balancing.
At the end of the session, you will have time to rest before putting your shoes back on. I will offer you water and discuss any areas that felt imbalanced, along with aftercare recommendations.
Sound Healing
I offer both group and individual sound healing. Group sound baths are held at a local village hall. Please see my welcome page for details.
One to one sessions are held in my treatment room. After a detailed consultation. you will be directed to lay on the massage couch. I will ensure you are comfortable, and there is a heated blanket if needed, and blankets to keep you warm. You will be offered an eye pillow to help you relax. During your session I will play instruments to ground you, and then instruments to help you focus and meditate. These will typically be Tibetan and crystal bowls. I may also use tuning forks to support vibrational healing. After the session you will have time to relax and get yourself together. We will then discuss how you felt during the session and any aftercare if needed.
Final Thoughts
Your first treatment is an opportunity to relax and restore balance. Whether you choose aromatherapy massage or reflexology, I aim to create a safe and comfortable environment where you can fully unwind. If you have any preferences or concerns, please feel free to share them—I want to ensure your experience is as beneficial as possible.
I look forward to welcoming you to your first session and supporting your journey toward relaxation and well-being!
