Winter Warmer

We can look to our essential oil properties to find remedies in nature. Although not as concentrated as the essential oils, adding these to your diet can help support your well-being and keep you healthy.

It’s cold and flu season so make sure you are well protected. I made these cold and flu shots, that can be stored in the freezer. When you start to feel unwell, you just pop one out, put in a mug and pour on hot water.

Add to a jug of hot water:

2 lemons. Juice of one and a half lemons. Half a lemon chopped up into small pieces.

A nob of ginger peeled and cut up into small pieces.

2 turmeric fingers peeled and cut into small pieces.

A couple of teaspoons of honey.

Leave to infuse and once cooled, pour into large ice cube trays and freeze.

Lemon– antiviral and antibacterial properties, helping to fight of colds.

Ginger-can hep support symptoms of bronchitis and anti-inflammatory

Tumeric– anti-inflammatory and antioxidant

Honey– antioxidant, antibacterial and soothe sore throats and coughs.

If you can, use organic products.

Essential oils should never be digested so this is a great alternative. Diffuse a blend of lemon and eucalyptus alongside drinking your cold and flu shot for added benefits.
