Essential Oil of the Month for November is Sweet Orange, Citrus sinensis.
Sweet orange essential oil is usually expressed from the peel of the sweet orange. Not to be confused with bitter orange (Citrus aurantium), although the benefits are similar, sweet orange oil is a delightfully uplifting oil, that can be used to lift your mood, support stress, anxiety and depression.
Sweet orange oil is great for the skin. Mixed into a carrier like rosehip or evening primrose, it can be used as a facial tonic for dull or oily skin.
Sweet orange is a relaxing oil and can help lower blood pressure and relieve oedema and fluid retention. Use in stomach massage, it is good for calming the digestion and relieving digestive problems, such as diarrhoea or constipation.
Diffusing a blend of a few drops of sweet orange, frankincense and cinnamon leaf, you’ll certainly start to get into the winter holiday mood, as well as uplifting your mood, it can help balance your mood.
